Raf coffee has gained popularity relatively recently, if espresso and latte have already firmly entered our life, then an unusual raff can not be found in all coffee houses, an unfamiliar name attracts far from all coffee lovers. So what is it, and what a raf can be - we will find out in this article.
How did the raff come about?
Surprisingly, this drink first appeared in Russia. Once, in one of the Moscow coffee houses, a regular customer named Raphael told the staff that he was tired of the taste of espresso, he wanted to try something new, but he didn't know what to choose. The barista decided to please the client and added cream and sugar to the espresso. Ultimately, the result was a delicious and delicate coffee drink that the visitor liked very much. Soon, many customers of this coffee shop wanted to try a new coffee cocktail themselves and asked the barista to prepare the same one as Raphael. This is how the drink got its name - raf, short for Raphael.
Despite the fact that all of the above events took place about 20 years ago, even now Raf is not easy to find in coffee houses. But it's easy to make at home using the following recipe.
Homemade Rafa Recipe
Raph has a fairly simple composition. Currently, coffee shops offer visitors many different types of raff, but we will focus on the classic version, which consists of 3 components. To make rafa at home, you will need:
One serving of espresso (25-35 ml);
· Sugar - a teaspoon;
Cream 11% - 100 ml.
The brewing process itself is quite simple and does not differ much from the preparation of regular coffee.
1. Stir the cream with sugar and heat, you can do it in the microwave at maximum power for a couple of minutes.
2. Brew coffee or brew if instant coffee is used.
3. Mix hot coffee and cream, beat until rich foam is formed. You can do this with a whisk or cocktail blender.
4. Serve raff either in an espresso cup or in a transparent glass.
Raf can be made salty, in which case salt must be added instead of sugar. You can decorate the finished coffee drink with cinnamon, decorative sprinkles, or make a pattern on the foam.
You can also change the taste of raff with the help of various syrups. Raf with cognac and chocolate is popular. Often, cream is replaced with milk, and vanilla is added to ordinary sugar.
In modern coffee shops, there are lavender rafs, cold and spicy, as well as raffs with the addition of cinnamon. In general, now raff is confidently gaining popularity, and its cost is not as high as the cost of latte or mocha. Drink delicious coffee and be sure to pay attention to the raf.
