Spices - the pearl of the East. However, they have long ceased to be exotic and have become commonplace for daily consumption. Spices are a great way to emphasize the taste of its coffee.
So, what spices you can add to your coffee:
- cardamom - has a tonic effect, also neutralizes the harmful properties of coffee. Gives the drink its astringency;
cloves will help if you have problems with pressure. Besides having analgesic effects, and helps improve circulation;
cinnamon - has anti-inflammatory effect and cleanses the blood;
- vanilla - stresses the good taste of milk;
- nutmeg - has tonic properties and a bitter taste;
- caraway seeds - improves digestion.
Some spices such as cardamom, cumin and cloves, are used directly in brewing coffee, and vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon - as an additive in ready-made coffee.
It is worth remembering that one should not give in to fanaticism and to use spices too much. They are designed to emphasize the taste of coffee, not to distort it.
Usually add one spice, but if you like to experiment, you can mix them. For example, in Tunisia I like to mix cardamom, cloves and a little cinnamon.
Bon appetit!
